Brad Graveline is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Litigation Practice Groups of Sheppard Mullin, a U.S.-based law firm. His practice focuses on cannabis, patent litigation, intellectual property advice, trademarks and other commercial litigation. Brad is a member of Sheppard Mullin’s Cannabis Team, which has been recognized as a ‘Cannabis Practice Group of the Year’ by Law360. Sheppard Mullin has one of the largest cannabis practice teams in the United States, with 85 attorneys working on cannabis issues in each of Sheppard Mullin’s 12 U.S. offices, as well as in its international offices. Brad advises clients in the cannabis space in connection with the procurement and management of intellectual property, technology transactions and regulatory matters. Brad is the lead author of the forthcoming book Illinois Cannabis Law (LexisNexis, exp. 2022). Brad is a nationally recognized intellectual property trial lawyer. He led the trial team that secured the largest ever patent infringement damages awards against the United States of America. Brad also represents pharmaceutical and medical device companies in intellectual property litigation matters. Brad also manages a trademark prosecution and management team that handles the global protection and enforcement of trademark portfolios, and he counsels clients in the strategy and procurement of trademark rights. He also serves as a qualified mediator in the Northern District of Illinois Lanham Act Mediation Program.
